Grants to this Grantee
for a workshop on working with Indigenous communities
Utah Diné Bikéyah (UDB) works to preserve and protect the cultural and natural resources of ancestral Native American lands to benefit and bring healing to people and the Earth. With this organizational effectiveness grant, UDB will develop and host a series of media and cultural sensitivity trainings to support journalists, environmental and conservation organizations, philanthropic institutions, and community organizations in deepening their understanding of and communications about Bears Ears National Monument, and narratives about COVID-19 and its impact on the Indigenous communities of the Four Corners/Bears Ears region. The Bears Ears is one of the Hewlett Foundation’s priority geographies. (Substrategy: Build the Conditions for Enduring Conservation)
