Overview
Georgia Public Broadcasting will produce a one-hour PBS documentary film, Classroom Debate, that explores the impact debate-based education has on high school learning. The documentary will focus on how these programs work; explore the effect on engagement, collaboration, critical thinking, public speaking, listening, and civility; and investigate current program expansion initiatives and efforts to reach all students. The documentary will advance the Education Program’s goal of exploring learning modes that contribute to deeper learning. (Strategy: K-12 Teaching and Learning)

This is a supplemental grant to Georgia Public Broadcasting, fiscal sponsor for this project, for producing a one-hour PBS documentary film that explores the impact of debate-based education on high school learning. The documentary, which will be produced by Susie Films, will focus on how these programs work; explore the effect on engagement, collaboration, critical thinking, public speaking, listening, and civility; and investigate current program expansion initiatives and efforts to reach all students.
