for a project to strengthen citizen participation in the conservation of water resources
Controla Tu Gobierno partners with local watershed associations to monitor the government’s management of water resources and to advocate for equitable access to clean water. Over the past two years, Controla Tu Gobierno analyzed reports from the federal auditor’s office to bring more regulatory and media attention to abandoned water treatment plants that continue to receive government funding. Controla Tu Gobierno will increase their geographic footprint and the number of partner watershed associations to strengthen their advocacy campaign ahead of Mexico’s incoming federal administration, which takes office in December.
