Grants to this Grantee
for support of its project to protect Colorado wilderness and reduce fossil fuel impacts
This renewal grant will support the Colorado Environmental Coalition's efforts to protect the state's roadless areas and wild rivers and constrain the expansion of fossil-energy development on sensitive public lands. The Coalition is seeking to protect 500,000 roadless acres and sixty-five miles of wild rivers, prevent the commercial leasing of oil shale, and ensure that oil and gas development in Colorado does not impact roadless land or sensitive habitat. The Coalition will also build support among a diverse array of ranchers, hunters, and anglers, particularly on the western slope of the Rockies.
for support of its project to protect Colorado wilderness and reduce fossil fuel impacts
This renewal grant would support Conservation Colorado’s efforts to protect the state’s roadless areas and wild rivers, constrain the expansion of fossil-energy development on sensitive public lands, and promote state policies that encourage renewable energy and conservation. To accomplish these goals, Conservation Colorado will work with diverse rural and urban interest groups, as well as with state and federal decision makers.
