Overview
Yerba Buena Center for the Arts is the region’s preeminent contemporary arts center, serving 150,000 people on-site each year. Its curated performing arts series has solidified the Center’s position as a key presenter of important works by artists from the Bay Area and beyond, showcasing diverse artistic perspectives. The Center’s focus on cross-disciplinary, risk-taking performance carries through in its commissions of new work. Its Community Rentals program serves an important complementary role by providing subsidized theater space, and an increasing number of community engagement initiatives are taking root. The Center is under dynamic new executive leadership, and renewed support would enable it to build on its collection of assets.
