For Developing A Flexible Data Collection Tool For Users In Developing Countries

Overview
The WWWF’s mission is to advance the Web technically by breaking down barriers and building capabilities, and to utilize it to empower individuals and citizen groups by providing a medium for them to voice their opinions. This project grant would provide the seed funding for the WWWF to develop an online tool for data collection and citizen feedback. The proposed outcome of this project is to create a data-collection platform that will also be appropriate for collecting opinions and gathering contextual information from those living in underprivileged communities in developing countries, and who usually have poor reading skills, read in less common languages, or have access to limited technologies such as the simplest mobile phones and mobile networks. Two other major donors have expressed interest in joining this effort and piloting the tool once it is developed.
