This grant will support Women and Social Protection (WSP) Tanzania, which aims to generate evidence, build capacity, and influence policies related to social protection, gender equality, and women’s economic empowerment. WSP Tanzania conducts demand-driven research and engages policymakers to develop and fund gender-aware economic and social protection policies and systems. The organization will strengthen its collaboration with women’s rights organizations to ensure they have the evidence to advocate for women’s economic justice. In addition to research and evidence user engagement, WSP Tanzania will focus on institutional strengthening during the grant period. (Strategy: International Women’s Economic Empowerment)

To achieve this mission, WSP Tanzania delivers technical skills and policy advice to government personnel and policymakers at national and local levels on policies and programs related to social protection, gender equality, and women’s economic empowerment. Over the next few years, WSP Tanzania aims to shift cultural norms using evidence to advance gender-responsive social and economic policy solutions and strengthen its institutional capacity..
