Overview
This grant to Washington Technology Solutions, which oversees the state of Washington’s information technology systems, will support the development and deployment of an innovative privacy protection toolkit for state and local governments. The toolkit would embody "Privacy by Design" concepts and have four components: (a) analysis of types of data and personally identifiable information; (b) a matrix of potential legal and policy issues to consider; (c) proposed rules for data acquisition, storage, retention, and deletion; and (d) training modules for decision makers.
