Grants to this Grantee
for support of OER adoption in higher education
The University of Mississippi, the flagship research university in the state, is a national leader in OER research and implementation in higher education classrooms. With this grant, the university will extend its current work by expanding the OER degree in public universities and community colleges in the region; steering OER options to students who have dropped out of higher education; and researching and articulating open educational practices for higher education faculty.
for development of OER for higher education classrooms by expanding upon the Z-degree model
The University of Mississippi is the flagship research university in the state and a leader in researching and implementing OER in higher education classrooms nationally. By seeding OER throughout Mississippi’s higher education system, the University would expand upon the Z-degree model—a pathway developed at Tidewater Community College for students to achieve two- and four-year degrees with zero textbook costs. This work promotes OER adoption and equitable access to education for all learners.
