Overview
Cal Performances, a program at the University of California at Berkeley, commissions, produces, and presents performances and programs that explore the intersection of education and the performing arts. Each year it presents an annual season of 52 performances of dance, theater, opera, jazz, and world and classical music, reaching 112,000 people. Cal Performances’ education and community outreach programs focus on building artistic literacy, serving 2,400 children in schools. This grant to the University of California at Berkeley for Cal Performances supports the Performing Arts Program’s Continuity and Engagement strategy through the Innovative Works component.

The mission of the Berkeley School of Education at UC Berkeley is to advance excellence and equity at all levels of public education.
