Overview
This proposed grant would support a social media, communications, and mass mobilization campaign, "A World at School and Learning," to generate the needed political will and public interest to significantly decrease the number of citizens out of school in target countries, especially girls and the most vulnerable and excluded populations. The campaign would also place equitable learning front and center on the global education agenda. PiggyBankKids, a U.K. nonprofit organized and led by Sarah and Gordon Brown, brings two unique assets to this work: digital strategists with demonstrated success in campaigning; and Gordon Brown’s status as the U.N. Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Global Education, which gives this group high-level access and visibility in post-2015 proceedings.

This grant would support Theirworld’s "A World at School and Learning" campaign, which aims to generate the needed public interest and political will to significantly decrease the number of children out of school in target countries and ensure that equitable learning is a priority. Theirworld would engage in high-level dialogue within target countries to increase financial commitments for learning from both the public and private sectors. Theirworld also would seek to create public pressure for action through the use of social media, partnerships with local civil society and youth organizations, and mass mobilization campaigns.
