This supplemental grant for the Climate Group’s Global "Climate Action Summit: Scaling Proven Leadership" project will add key U.S. media markets that will cover important zero-emission vehicle stories leading up to and at the summit. The Scaling Proven Leadership project will coordinate efforts to get high-ambition commitments for clean electricity and transportation adopted by corporate, city, state, and other sub-national actors. Coordination infrastructure will be built to last into the future as these commitments are implemented and emission reductions are achieved.
for accelerating electric vehicle adoption in India
The Climate Group works with non-state actors, businesses, and subnational governments on accelerating clean energy transitions through collaborative programs that deliver impact on a global scale. In India, transport is estimated to consume 25% of energy by 2040, of which 90% will be in road transport. The Climate Group is proposing to work with companies in India to increase access to and adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in order to catalyze the development of a strong demand-side EV ecosystem, encourage more companies to adopt sustainable mobility strategies, and reduce emissions from passenger transport. The grant will also be used to recruit more Indian members to EV100.
