Overview
The Tannery Arts Center (TAC) is the fund-raising arm of a decade-long project to transform an historic leather tannery in Santa Cruz into a thriving arts campus and regional arts destination. TAC has raised 60 percent toward its $5 million Phase III capital campaign goal, funds to be used to complete the campus with office space for arts organizations and an affordable, state-of-the-art black box theater for local and touring arts organizations, as well as community use. The Foundation made a $2 million capital grant to TAC in July 2009. A renewal grant for operating support would enable the organization to complete Phase III fund-raising, oversee new construction, and support its board and staff as they consider the appropriate role for TAC on the Tannery campus once Phase III construction is complete.
