Overview
Because passive asset management tracks the entire market or large swaths of it, significant capital is flowing, by default, into carbon-intensive industries, driving climate change. The Sunrise Project supports an emerging field of actors to solve the passive investing problem. They will research the passive asset management landscape in the United States, China, and European Union, and identify various solutions to ensure that this growing type of investing supports solutions to climate change and overall decarbonization.

Grants to this Grantee
for accelerating the EV transition
The Sunrise Project Australia’s auto program aims to accelerate the EV transition to 100% EVs by 2035, with a focus on fleets and the automotive supply chain. The program will explore fleet electrification to test the hypothesis that accelerating electrification of rental car fleets (as well as company cars in Europe) will result in a more rapid adoption of EVs in the second-hand car market. Part of this funding will be used for an analytical modeling study, and part to research fleet industries and major fleet players in the EU and U.S. to get an initial idea of the impact opportunity, as well as understand fleet lease management dynamics.
