Overview
Summit Public Schools provides students in diverse communities in the San Francisco Bay Area and Washington State with next generation learning experiences, which unleash the power of educators to redesign their schools around impactful forms of instruction that lead to deeper learning outcomes. As Summit now scales its Summit Learning Teacher Residency program, this grant will support work to investigate research questions about efficiency and sustainability. Summit hopes to acquire concrete evidence that can inform the best scalable approaches to the teaching and learning of deeper learning competencies.

Through their Community Pathways into Teaching initiative, Summit will support their students as they engage in expeditionary learning, thereby developing the knowledge and skills to become educators who can lead deeper learning, skills-based classrooms. This work advances the Education Program’s strategic goal of having concrete evidence to inform the best scalable approaches to teaching and learning of the deeper learning competencies.
