The California Alliance initiative of Strategic Concepts in Organizing and Policy Education complements the Foundation’s substantial investment in California Forward (a multiyear campaign for state fiscal and governance reforms) by adding much-needed grassroots organizing. Over the next several years, the Alliance plans both to increase civic participation and to expand community-based organizations’ capacity to build it, while also forging strategic collaborations with other statewide efforts. The Alliance is supported by the Irvine Foundation, the California Endowment, and a number of other foundations.
