Overview
Securing America's Future Energy works to reduce America's dependence on oil. SAFE's activities focus on the Energy Security Leadership Council, the Electrification Coalition, and the Diplomatic Council on Energy Security. The Leadership Council is an advocacy team composed of Fortune 500 chief executives and former military flag officers; it focuses on the economic and national security threats associated with U.S. oil dependence. The Electrification Coalition is an alliance of fourteen chief executives from technology firms, electric utilities, and automobile manufacturers. Its goal is to reduce America's dependence on oil by promoting government action to facilitate the deployment of electric vehicles. Finally, the Diplomatic Council is a group of former ambassadors and State Department officials concerned with the foreign policy ramifications of oil dependence. In the coming year, much of SAFE's work will focus on the nation's transportation policies in an effort to better direct transportation infrastructure investment and encourage electrification of transportation.

Grants to this Grantee
for a project to reduce America’s dependence on oil and increase the use of electric vehicles
Securing America’s Future Energy Foundation focuses on reducing U.S. dependence on oil. We recommend renewing support for the foundation’s efforts to educate conservative policymakers, business leaders, and opinion leaders about energy issues, policies, and concrete solutions. For example, its electrification initiative in Colorado and Florida?supported by industries, cities, and states?will serve as a pilot for expediting the deployment of electric vehicles in the United States.
