Grants to this Grantee
for a project to analyze the impact of projected cuts to the U.S. foreign assistance budget
Publish What You Fund conducts research, analysis, and advocacy to promote aid transparency and ensure that aid information is used by recipient governments for budget planning and decision making. This grant will enable Publish What You Fund to conduct research and carry out advocacy to raise awareness and ensure that governments and other donors of U.S. aid-recipient countries prepare adequately for potential reductions in U.S. development assistance.
for the global campaign for aid transparency
Publish What You Fund is the global campaign for aid transparency. As an independent nongovernmental organization, it advocates for more comprehensive, timely, accessible, and comparable data on aid flows to maximize the impact and effectiveness of aid resources. The campaign calls for the publication of all aid information in the common and open standard that was agreed upon under the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI). By 2016, Publish What You Fund expects that donors representing 90 percent of official development aid flows will publish to the IATI standard. One of Publish What You Fund’s most effective tactics for improving the quality and usefulness of the information being published is to rank donors annually in an Aid Transparency Index.
