Grants to this Grantee
for a project on increasing extractive industry transparency in Mexico
This grant would enable the Project on Organizing, Development, Education, and Research (PODER) to use public information to document the extent to which tax revenue is lost in Mexico due to poorly managed mining contracts. In addition, the project will work to identify the real ownership of the largest private companies working with natural resources in Mexico. This data will then be collated and curated by PODER and an external editorial committee of experts and presented in a public website.
for a project to improve natural resources governance, transparency, and accountability in Mexico
The Project on Organizing, Development, Education, and Research (PODER) works to build a citizen-led movement for corporate transparency and accountability in Latin America. With this grant, PODER will continue working with journalists and grassroots organizations in rural Mexico that are negatively affected by mining and other extractive industries.
