Overview
Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) was founded in 1963 and is currently the largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the United States. It provides medical services through a network of thirty-four fixed-site clinics and at a number of community service sites throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, central and northern California, and northern Nevada. This grant would provide support for PPMM to provide family planning and reproductive health services to diverse and underserved populations. Although many nonprofits have faltered during the economic downturn, PPMM is in strong financial shape and has been able to actually expand its operations.

Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
This grant will support Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, which provides health care and education to people in California and Nevada. Reaching a diverse patient population of mostly low-income people, its services include primary, reproductive, behavioral health, and transgender care; linguistically and culturally appropriate support to patients and their families; comprehensive sexuality education; and advocacy on behalf of patients.
for support of the Santa Clara County Opportunity Youth Partnership
This grant will support the Santa Clara County Opportunity Youth Partnership and its goal to reduce by half the number of disengaged youths in Santa Clara County by 2029. The partnership between the Santa Clara County Office of Education, United Way Bay Area, and Kids in Common (a program of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte) exists to weave education, workforce development, and support services into a widely accessible reengagement system for youths. Through the partnership, a desired goal by 2021 is to build a physical Opportunity Center that will provide services and tools for youths and young adults to go back to school.
