Planned Parenthood Mar Monte

For Expanding Family Planning And Reproductive Health Services To San Mateo And Alameda Counties

Overview
This grant will support the efforts of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) to rapidly expand its service area to include San Mateo and Alameda Counties, following the loss of accreditation of Planned Parenthood Golden Gate (PPGG), which previously provided family planning and reproductive health services to these communities. PPMM currently serves the neighboring counties of Santa Clara and Santa Cruz and many to the south and is planning to immediately establish satellite sites in each county (initially targeting three sites in Alameda County and two sites in San Mateo County) in an effort to ensure continuity of service delivery to low-income families in these communities while doing a needs assessment as to locations for new full service health centers.

Grants to this Grantee
for support of the Santa Clara County Opportunity Youth Partnership
This grant will support the Santa Clara County Opportunity Youth Partnership and its goal to reduce by half the number of disengaged youths in Santa Clara County by 2029. The partnership between the Santa Clara County Office of Education, United Way Bay Area, and Kids in Common (a program of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte) exists to weave education, workforce development, and support services into a widely accessible reengagement system for youths. Through the partnership, a desired goal by 2021 is to build a physical Opportunity Center that will provide services and tools for youths and young adults to go back to school.
