Overview
Oriki Theater is a community-based provider of programs that share the real Africa, its people and culture through a combination of dance, drama, music, folk stories, and the drum, reaching almost 100,000 people per year throughout Silicon Valley. A company of professional artists perform for pre-K-12 students in thirty Santa Clara County schools, in both assemblies and longer-term residencies, as well as for the public in diverse community venues. New support for Oriki would boost the organization’s capacity to deliver programs to under-served and under-resourced communities in the Silicon Valley region.

A company of professional artists performs for pre-K-12 students in forty-three Santa Clara County schools, in both assemblies and longer-term residencies, as well as for the public in diverse community venues. A new focus for Oriki is the development of the next generation of leadership within the organization through increased professional development and mentoring. Renewed support for Oriki would continue to build the organization’s capacity to deliver programs to underserved and under-resourced communities in the Silicon Valley region, reaching a target of fifty schools and producing online videos and live-streaming for one or two events per year.
