Overview
ODC, a longstanding dance organization in San Francisco’s Mission District, has recently completed planning processes for its three primary programs: its professional dance company performs for more than 35,000 audience members each year, its performing arts theater presents more than 150 productions annually, and the dance school provides training to more than 16,000 students. ODC is one of the most active dance centers on the West Coast, providing opportunities for artist residencies, commissions, arts writers, and other smaller local dance companies serving more than 900 professional artists. A grant to ODC will support its efforts to solidify its financial stability, continue artistic programs, and improve operational capacity.

for general operating support
ODC, formerly known as the Oberlin Dance Collective, has spent the past forty years building a highly reputable and innovative dance organization in San Francisco’s Mission District. Each year, its contemporary dance company, theater/presenting entity, and dance school engage more than 16,000 students and 50,000 Bay Area audience members in the art of making dance. ODC reopened its newly renovated theater space in October 2010 on its two-building campus. Renewed funding would support this important cultural institution in its next phase of growth under new administrative leadership and with a comprehensive strategic planning process under way.
