for envisioning and creating an equitable future for learning and assessment  
NWEA is a mission-driven, not-for-profit, research-based organization focused on helping all kids learn and on disrupting inequities that exist in our education systems. NWEA is committed to influencing a future in which there is an equitable system of learning that includes authentic connections between and among curriculum, instruction, assessment, and accountability. With this grant, NWEA will lead by setting goals for its 2021-2024 strategic plan that advance development of equitable assessment solutions, services, research, and policy; and developing an advocacy agenda that confronts the policies that exacerbate inequities. for support of Louisiana’s Department of Education ESSA Section 1204 pilot program  
The Northwest Evaluation Association is a research-based nonprofit that provides assessments to measure student growth and proficiency and delivers insights to help tailor instruction. The association will support the Louisiana Department of Education as it pilot tests a measurement and accountability model in selected districts that assesses deeper learning outcomes and uses transparent reporting on a broadened range of indicators. This effort will reciprocally engage states and school districts in establishing more meaningful, equitable, and accountable measures of learning.
