Overview
High gasoline prices are being used by the oil and gas industry as a lever to try to force the Department of the Interior to roll back environmental protections of Western public lands to allow more fossil energy development. In response, the New Venture Fund, through its Western Energy Project, has assembled a communications strategy to counter the fossil energy industry's efforts and build support in the West for protecting wildlife habitat, rivers, and parks from the impacts of energy development. This grant would support implementation of this communications strategy.
