Overview
This supplemental grant will support New Venture Fund’s Western Energy Project. The Project seeks to protect ecologically important public lands in the Rocky Mountain West threatened by fossil energy leasing and development. This grant will enable the Western Energy Project to educate policy makers on the need to adopt Master Leasing Plans on Bureau of Land Management lands that will guide oil and gas leasing while protecting sensitive landscapes, secure strong methane regulations that will reduce the amount of gas that is flared or leaked into the atmosphere, and engage a broad array of stakeholders in support of the Project’s goals.
