For Support Of The Zika Contraception Access Network

Overview
This grant will permit the Centers for Disease Control Foundation to support the Puerto Rican Zika Contraception Access Network, an island-wide network of health care providers trained to provide women with client-centered contraceptive counseling and access to the full range of contraceptive methods at no cost. The Zika virus is spreading rapidly in Puerto Rico and there is an urgent public health need to prevent pregnancy among women who choose to delay or avoid pregnancy as a strategy to reduce adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes. This project responds to this need by making the full-range of contraceptives available at no cost.

The CDC Foundation connects the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with private-sector organizations and individuals to build public health programs that make our world healthier and safer. This grant provides program support for the Foundation’s Ebola response, including providing supplies, management centers, and training of health workers in countries affected by the Ebola epidemic.
