Overview
The National Coalition of Human Rights Defenders in Kenya works to strengthen the capacity of Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) to work effectively and to reduce their vulnerability to the risk of persecution by advocating for a favorable legal and policy environment in Kenya. The coalition’s focus areas are informed by the need to address the intersecting issues and power that perpetuate violations of the rights of HRDs. It thus centers its work around these critical pathways: advocacy toward conducive operating environment; appropriate and rapid responses to the protection needs of HRDs; as well as offering capacity development, knowledge-management support, and movement building.
