Overview
The MATCH International Women’s Fund was founded in 1976 and is the only women’s fund in Canada. MATCH supports women-led social innovations and grassroots organizations in Latin America, sub-Saharan Africa, and South Asia on issues such as sexual and reproductive health and rights and increasing women’s economic empowerment. This grant will enable MATCH to support its organizational priorities during the grant period, which include piloting grantmaking and capacity building in sub-Saharan Africa, and Francophone West Africa specifically. MATCH’s experience through grantmaking will inform and provide critical advice and technical capacity to the government of Canada to advocate for the centrality of women’s rights organizations in their new Feminist International Assistance Policy.
