Lumen Learning, LLC is a for-profit company helping higher education institutions use OER to eliminate textbook costs, increase access to education, strengthen student learning, train and support faculty, and sustain student success. This grant is for core support of the Open Education Conference (run by Lumen Learning''s Chief Academic Officer, David Wiley) and will allow for registration costs to be kept low, providing greater opportunity for more people to attend and participate.The Open Education Conference is the oldest and most well-attended conference focused on open education and OER, provides a premiere opportunity for field building in OER, and is attended by a large number of OER grantees.
