Grants to this Grantee
for Indigenous leadership and participation in wildfire resilience
The Karuk Tribe is one of the largest tribes in California. The Tribe’s ancestral territory extends along the Klamath River through Northwestern California and into Southern Oregon. Today, the Karuk Tribe is located in Humboldt and Siskiyou counties. This grant supports the Tribe’s Department of Natural Resources to develop and build momentum around wildfire resilience through coalition-building, capacity-building, Indigenous participation, and public awareness.
