Overview
This grant supports the Institute of Sustainable Communities’ work to strengthen Chinese governments’ capacity to achieve carbon neutrality. This project will test ISC’s new China strategy in its work to strengthen Chinese central and local governments through targeted official capacity building. For the first year, ISC will partner with Innovative Green Development Program (iGDP) and Beijing University to develop training courses and textbooks on carbon emissions control and carbon neutrality. iGDP will also work in Fujian, Hainan, Gansu, and Guangdong provinces to develop and pilot toolkits in support of policymaking to peak carbon emissions and achieve carbon neutrality, and provide trainings for central government officials.
