Global Witness

Global Witness investigates, exposes, and challenges corruption in natural resource governance. It seeks to ensure that revenue from natural resources drives peaceful and sustainable development in the world’s resource-rich countries. Through this grant Global Witness (GW) will further embed its values as well as its newly developed Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accountability (DEIA) strategy. (Strategy: Inclusive Governance)

Global Witness will continue its current strategic focus on the misuse of power to better respond to the biggest challenge facing our planet — the climate crisis. Global Witness is investigating, exposing, and tackling the abuses of power that are driving the climate crisis. (Strategy: Inclusive Governance)

Global Witness investigates, exposes, and challenges corruption in natural resource governance. It seeks to ensure that revenue from natural resources drives peaceful and sustainable development in the world’s resource-rich countries. With this grant, Global Witness will advocate for effective implementation of the newly adopted norms and standards by the board of the Extractives Industry Transparency Initiative. Global Witness will also mount campaigns to expose corrupt practices by extractive companies and promote public disclosure of company ownership information.
