Overview
The Global Press Institute trains and employs women in developing countries to produce journalism that features local voices on underreported issues. These voices contribute to the strength of the international women’s movement. This grant will support training programs for women in developing countries to become local journalists. The institute will update and expand the curriculum program to scale training on reporting to new global locations, and offer new employment opportunities to 100 women as journalists. This grant will also allow the institute to support institutional strengthening by investing in operational, administrative, and governance infrastructure.

Grants to this Grantee
for general operating support
Global Press trains reporters and builds independent news bureaus, staffed by local journalists, in some of the world's least-covered places. Their commitment to high-quality employment and their robust Duty of Care program ensures that reporters have the tools they need to tell the stories the world most needs to hear, and the safety and security mechanisms in place to ensure they are safe and well in the process. This general operating support grant maintains editorial independence for Global Press newsrooms in all countries.
