Overview
The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) trains public servants in Ghana and across West Africa. GIMPA also provides governance, management, and public administration support for the public and private sector and nongovernmental organizations. With this grant, GIMPA will launch the second phase of the Development Impact West Africa (DIWA) program. DIWA strengthens West African government decision makers’ knowledge and use of evaluations to inform policy and program design. During the first phase of DIWA, students and the faculty of GIMPA and other regional research institutions worked with the government of Ghana and the Economic Community of West African States to design and conduct policy evaluations, and to support the use of the findings. For the second phase of DIWA, GIMPA plans to continue capacity building and evidence-generation activities, while intensifying efforts to increase the utilization of rigorous evidence to inform policy decisions and enhanced learning. GIMPA will also seek to build more partnerships and increase activities to expand its footprint in the subregion. (Strategy: Evidence-Informed Policymaking)
