Overview
The Third International Conference on Financing for Development will be the key negotiation at which countries determine their financial commitments for the post-2015 development agenda. This grant will cover the expenses of a Dalberg employee who is an expert on development finance to work directly at the U.S. State Department for two years. It is anticipated that this individual, under the auspices of the Franklin Fellowship, will provide technical support to the U.S. government before, during, and after the Conference to ensure that the United States considers all possible sources of development finance. This will support the government in making the appropriate commitments and supporting the success of the post-2015 development goals.

This grant will enable Dalberg Consulting to help develop a more sensible, collaborative, and effective way to measure the impact of advocacy. By taking stock of the tools already being used within the advocacy community and "adjacent fields" such as corporate marketing to measure their progress and impact, and piloting one or two new tools, Dalberg intends to learn about best practices in advocacy measurement and ways in which these practices could be improved upon. Dalberg ultimately hopes to support advocacy organizations to adopt an advocacy measurement approach that is easy to use, objective, and can act as a common language for organizations and funders.
