The Council of the Great City Schools is a nonprofit coalition of America’s largest city public school districts dedicated to improving academic achievement, strengthening educational governance and leadership, and bolstering public confidence. This grant will allow the council to conduct a series of working groups, technical assistance, consulting, and professional development in an effort to ensure the safe and successful opening and operation of schools during the global COVID-19 pandemic. This grant will enable them to hire an outside evaluation firm to help track and document the outcomes of their Key Performance Indicators project with member school districts and to build capacity within the grantee organization to maintain rigorous evaluation practices over time.
