Overview
The Constitutional Rights Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan civic education provider for K-12 schools. In coalition with Californians for Civic Learning, Berkeley Law, USC Rossier School of Education, the Center for Civic Education, and the Reagan Library, it will lead a two-year initiative to improve and expand civic learning in California by: providing high-quality curriculum materials and teacher professional development; helping educators prioritize civic learning at the state and local levels of public schools; and ensuring more students are given the opportunity to earn the new California Seal of Civic Engagement on their high school diplomas. This work advances the Education Program’s goal of providing new exemplars of teacher practice so students learn not just content, but also social and academic skills and mindsets, and an appreciation for life in a complex democracy.
