Overview
CommonLit is dedicated to ensuring that every student graduates with reading, writing, critical thinking, and communication skills to be successful in college and beyond. To achieve its mission, the organization operates a free online reading program that serves over 10 million students. Through this grant, CommonLit will expand its library of openly licensed short stories and informational articles featuring protagonists of color, written by authors of color and others representing diverse viewpoints. In doing so, CommonLit will promote a more diverse set of voices in the open education landscape, while also expanding the corpus of high-quality OER in circulation.
