Overview
The Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color is a national organization focused on the social, emotional, and academic development of boys and young men of color. In 2020, it will host its 14th annual gathering of educators and education leaders, social service providers, parents, and community leaders. Participants will attend presentations led by national leaders in the education of boys and young men of color. In addition, participants will be able to attend professional development workshops conducted by practitioners or researchers on a wide range of topics relevant to the education of boys and young men of color.

This OE grant will support the Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color (COSEBOC) in the hiring of an interim leadership team whom, in conjunction with contracted external support, will shepherd the organization through the transition to retirement of the organization's only Executive Director since its inception, and work to ensure the continuity and future fruitfulness of the organization's mission. There is also an allocation in this grant for wellness in furtherance of the organization’s charitable purpose.

COSEBOC is a national nonprofit that promotes academic, social-emotional, and cultural growth of male students of color. This grant supports COSEBOC’s programming and assistance to schools and school districts who enroll large numbers of boys of color. (Substrategy: Student and Community Voice)
