Overview
The government of India has signaled its commitment to the clean energy transition through its target of installing at least 175 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2022. The flow of adequate and affordable capital continues to be critical for the timely and efficient realization of the country’s clean energy ambitions, and green bonds are fast emerging as part of the solution. Climate Bonds Initiative aims to analyze the business case for green bonds to be a vehicle to access clean energy capital from new sources. This is a joint study with Council on Energy, Environment and Water.
