Overview
The Clean Air Council works with community-based groups to enact air quality standards for reducing methane pollution from new and existing natural gas operations. Methane is not only a potent global warming pollutant, but, along with other harmful pollutants from natural gas infrastructure, also poses health risks to nearby residents, including respiratory and cardiovascular ailments. With support from the Hewlett Foundation, the Council will help build communications capacity in an array of local organizations representing those affected by pollution from the oil and gas industry in Pennsylvania.
