Overview
The Christian Coalition is the fiscal sponsor for Young Conservatives for Energy Reform, which is an organization that brings together young professional and socially conservative leaders in key states to support state and federal clean energy policies. This grant will allow this relatively new organization to hire strategic planning, organizational development, and media consultants to help it refine its mission and goals and develop structures that will allow it to grow effectively. Support from Hewlett will also cover costs related to implementing the plans that are developed. YCER has the potential to create bottom-up pressure inside the conservative movement for leaders to take supportive positions on clean energy and climate change, while also providing cover to conservative decision-makers to support clean energy policies.
