Overview
In recognition of the Hewlett Foundation’s 50th anniversary, the Hewlett 50 Arts Commissions initiative supports the creation and premiere of 50 exceptional works of performing arts. This grant will support the Chinese Culture Foundation of San Francisco in developing and presenting lead artist Heesoo Kwon’s “Leymusoom Mukkuli.” The project will culminate in a multimedia ritual rooted in Korean shamanism that will connect participants with ancestors. This supplemental grant will help the organization resolve challenges that have impeded the process of developing and premiering the commissioned work.
