Overview
With this OE grant, the Centro de Investigación Económica y Presupuestaria (CIEP) would undergo a strategic planning exercise (which it has never done so formally) based on the results of an institutional assessment carried out in August 2013. The strategic planning would include assessing CIEP's niche within a sector; a participatory definition of its mission, vision and values; the factors that enable/hinder its mission and vision; an assessment of its internal management, and a definition of medium term strategies to enable CIEP's positioning.

The Centro de Investigación Económica y Presupuestaria (CIEP) A.C. is a research and advocacy organization in Mexico that contributes evidence to the public debate on issues of economy and public finance. CIEP strengthens the research capacities of economists to work on public finance; provides technical assistance to decision makers; develops tools for fiscal analysis; and communicates the findings of their budget analysis with citizens, journalists, and decision makers. This general support grant aligns with the Fiscal Transparency substrategy of the Transparency, Participation, and Accountability strategy. CIEP implements activities such as research and capacity building of economists on public financial issues; providing technical assistance to decision makers; development of tools for fiscal analysis; and communications support to translate their findings for citizens, journalists, and decision makers.
