Overview
The Center for Black Educator Development’s mission is to ensure there will be equity in the recruitment, training, hiring, and retention of high-quality educators that reflect the cultural background and share common socio-political interests of the students they serve. They seek to accomplish this by recruiting talented Black men and women to advance social and racial justice by pursuing a career in education, helping all educators excel by developing the skills, will, and mindset to master teaching that breaks cycles of social oppression, and developing curricula, materials, and instruction sourced in perspectives on student learning historically prevalent in the Black community and culture. This organizational effectiveness grant supports the design and development of information technology system.
