Overview
California State University proposes to create a network across the nine CSU campuses and forty California Community Colleges in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, San Joaquín Valley, and Central Coast. The goals are to develop a general education transfer curriculum that emphasizes deeper learning, resulting in higher student completion rates. The project, which will involve at least 600 students and 150 faculty, will promote the use of evidence-based practices such as internships, learning communities, service learning, and capstone courses. Through research collaboration with faculty on lower general education courses, the project will strengthen assessment of students’ deeper learning outcomes and more closely align community colleges and four-year universities.
