For Support Of Into Women’s Hands: Misoprostol And The Politics Of Reproduction In Burkina Faso And Senegal

This grant will support the Into Women's Hands project to generate and foster the use of qualitative evidence to reduce unsafe abortion and maternal mortality in Burkina Faso and Senegal. Applying a feminist reproductive justice lens, Brandeis University, in partnership with Université Joseph Ki-Zerbo and Université Cheikh Anta Diop, will assess the availability, distribution, and use of misoprostol for approved and off-label obstetric indications in formal and informal health sectors in the two countries. The team will strengthen the capacity and build a pipeline of African scholars to conduct qualitative research to influence policy and practice. (Strategy: Global Reproductive Equity)
