Overview
This grant will support the Into Women's Hands project to generate and foster the use of qualitative evidence to strengthen health systems’ capacity to reduce unsafe abortion and maternal death in Burkina Faso and Senegal. Applying a reproductive justice lens, Brandeis University, in partnership with Université Joseph Ki-Zerbo and Université Cheikh Anta Diop, will conduct qualitative, collaborative, and women-centered research on the use of Misoprostol for obstetric indications in formal and informal health sectors. The team will strengthen the capacity and build a pipeline of African scholars to conduct qualitative research that can be used by policymakers, health professionals, and activists to improve reproductive and obstetric care.
