for support of chambers of commerce to develop a consensus agenda for deeper learning
These combined organizations serve over 7,000 executive managers in 1,200 local, regional, and state chambers of commerce. This grant would educate business leaders about how implementation and assessment of Common Core standards will promote deeper learning. The groups will develop plans to establish a working collective of regional chambers charged with setting a reform agenda for increasing college- and career-readiness.
for business community outreach in support of deeper learning
The Community Growth Educational Foundation supports the mission of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives by providing chamber CEOs with the tools, research, and knowledge they need to shape the futures of their communities. In partnership with the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce proposal described below, the foundation will create a toolkit and educational materials, host a multiday academy, and highlight leading practices to help chambers of commerce and their members more effectively support educational reforms that advance deeper learning instruction and assessment. These activities will help the business community become a major voice in public education reform discussions about college- and career-readiness for all young people.
